Aramid Roller Rope
Introduction to Aramid Roller Ropes for Glass Tempering Furnaces
Cold Burst Prevention: When glass moves from the heating section (approximately 600℃) to the cooling section, they prevent high-temperature glass from directly contacting low-temperature metal rollers, avoiding glass breakage caused by temperature differences.
Surface Protection: The smooth braided structure prevents scratches on the glass surface, meeting the quality requirements of high-end glass products.
High-Temperature Transmission: Maintain stable mechanical properties in high-temperature environments of 300-400℃ to ensure transmission synchronization.
Temperature Resistance:
Continuous Service Temperature: 300-380℃ (DuPont Kevlar® K29 can reach 380℃).
Short-Term Temperature Peak: 580℃ (no melting on instant contact, but continuous high temperature will cause carbonization).
Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: -2×10⁻⁶/K (negative expansion characteristic reduces dimensional changes at high temperatures).
Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: 3.6 GPa (about 6 times that of steel wire), modulus 131 GPa, elongation at break 2.8%.
Creep Resistance: Under 25% UTS load, the relaxation rate within 40 days is about 2.13 times that of polyarylate fibers. Pre-tensioned installation is required to reduce deformation under long-term loads.
Environmental Adaptability:
Chemical Stability: Resistant to acids, alkalis, and glass dust erosion. Surface coatings can further resist corrosive substances.
Flame Retardancy: Limited Oxygen Index (LOI) 30%, self-extinguishing when exposed to fire without dripping. The carbonized layer can form a thermal insulation barrier.

Application field
Tempering Furnace Cooling Section: During the rapid cooling of glass, it acts as an isolation layer between high-temperature glass and metal rollers, preventing cold bursts and scratches.
Air Grid Transmission System: Some equipment optimizes the winding angle of aramid ropes and cooperates with inclined air outlet design to improve cooling uniformity and reduce stress spots.
Special Glass Processing: Suitable for the transportation of high-precision products such as ultra-thin glass (≤2mm) and curved glass, avoiding rigid damage from traditional steel wires.
